In many countries, rodent-borne diseases are of serious public health concern. Some 40 diseases are transmitted from various rodent species to humans. In addition to disease, rodents destroy much of the world's food supply.
Genesis Laboratories had developed technology for the monitoring and control of vector and rodent borne diseases such as plague, Lassa fever, mouse borne salmonella, Lyme disease and a host of others. These are of special concern in that they have the potential to affect human health and agricultural commodities. We are trained in flea and tick identification and breeding techniques and even maintain on site colonies at our laboratory. Over the past 5 years, Genesis has been instrumental in the development of new Lyme Disease and plague control products. This potential tool is projected to be an added tool in the overall management of these diseases in the endemic areas worldwide.
One facet of our research includes the development of products aimed at rodent control and the parasites that use them as reservoir hosts. It is our primary goal to keep these products as safe an effective as possible for consumer use and the environments in which these products will be used.
